As a writer, I’ve spent over a decade writing books about poverty and deprivation in the UK. Given the current state of our world, it’s no surprise there is a resurgence in writers artists stepping up to reflect the political, societal and environmental issues we face, giving their audience a medium to explore their anxieties and righteous anger, as well as using their work as a tool for change.
