Earlier this year the United Nations Secretary-General announced that the climate crisis is “entering unchartered waters”. Climate records have been broken on land and sea, and the scale and timing of these impacts are already exceeding the predictions of climate scientists. Climate change is no longer a problem of the future, it is happening now. Every fraction of a degree of global temperature rise makes a difference, and action is ever more urgent.
