The arrival of migrant birds such as Swallows and House Martins is a landmark moment for many of us. After travelling thousands of miles, they’re arriving in Scotland, possibly hoping to use the same nest as last year. If you’re lucky, a pair may have arrived in your garden by now and they’ll raise one or maybe two broods before embarking on their lengthy journey south in autumn.
